A club for every collector

20years in the hobby

We're a non-profit club promoting philately across Gujarat and India.

Our members are students, teachers, professionals, researchers and senior philatelists. Some have collected for decades; some are just starting. We meet, share, study and exhibit together — and we're always glad to welcome someone new to the hobby.

Scinde Dawk, 1852

British India (Sindh)Issued 1852Sample

The Scinde Dawk of 1852 is often described as the first adhesive postage stamp issued in Asia. It was introduced in the province of Sindh under Sir Bartle Frere and bore the merchant's mark of the East India Company. Early examples were embossed on red wafer, which cracked easily, so surviving copies are scarce.

New to stamp collecting?

You need very little to begin, and the club is here to help.

  1. Collect what comes your way. Save stamps from family post and ask friends to keep theirs.
  2. Pick a focus. A country or a theme — birds, trains, cricket — gives your collection a story.
  3. Get three tools. Tongs, a stockbook and a magnifier are all you need.
  4. Come to a meeting. Members will help you identify and sort your first finds.
